[SP2] When trying to share, says user can't be found

L

Layne

So I am trying to share calendars and contacts which was the most
important part of this update for us...

First I enable permissions on the calendar and contacts of the person I
want to share with.
Then I goto File > Open Other User's Folder

The window pops up and I add the email address username
(firstname_lastname) in the "User" field of the "Open Other User"
dialog window.

I get an error back every time "The user's folder could not be found.
Enourage could not find a mailbox for the user Firstname Lastname."

So Entourage sees the user, as it changes the user's login info into
their actual name on the account. And I can add the user that
Entourage says doesnt exist to my calendar and change the user's
permissions to access my calendar without any errors.

So basically Entourage is telling me user's mailboxes don't exist, yet
Entourage obviously sees the users.

We are running on a hosted Exchange 2003 server. Everyone we are
testing with are using Entourage 2004 SP2.

Any help is appreciated.

The alias resolution and mailbox resolution are two separate issues. Most
likely the issues stems from the fact your are on hosted Exchange.

Try using the "Advanced" button when you click on the Address Book Look-Up
button of the Open Other's Users Folder dialog. The dialog lets you
override where Entourage looks for a mailbox on the Exchange server.

Its our host that needs to figure out how to integrate the new
Entourage...
From their tech support:
"Hello,

We are in the process of testing and trying to release instructions on
the new upgrade to Entourage. We don't have a time frame on this
support yet."

I was having the same problem and got it to work by going under
advanced and putting in something like this for server:
https://mail.example.com/exchange/[email protected]

Do you have folder visible on the permissions for the mailbox (Inbox)? What
happens when you ³Add User² and try to add them via the Advanced tab?

Thanks,

I have the same exact problem, and folder visible is selected on the
permissions for the Mailbox User Name and the Inbox, all with reviewer
privileges (and of course Calendar). Here¹s a wrinkle though. I was able to
get calendar sharing to work with one user and his configuration is identical
to the others whose calendars I am trying to access. He also works as a
delegate, but no other user works as a delegate, i.e., the same message of
³Entourage could not find a mailbox for the user [last name, first name].
That same message appears whether trying to share a calendar or add a
delegate. Also, of interest is that in the delegate scenario, like the one
described above, the user is found during the selection process and shows up
in the folder view, only the actual folder, i.e., calendar does not show up.
Very strange.
