Space bar problem

Help - suddently my space bar isn't working - just set up
this new computer a few days ago and everything was fine -
I don't know what I did to cause this problem -
everything I type runs together and won't space anything.

First test to see if it's a keyboard problem. Launch another application,
e.g Notepad, and try typing in that program. If the spacebar works in that
application, then it's a Word problem. If the spacebar doesn't work in that
application, then it's a keyboard/Windows problem.
