Splitting tasks

I am using MP2002 and have several tasks that I need to split. I am hitting
the split task icon on the standard toolbar, getting the symbol and box, but
when I drag the bar nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Francisco,
After hitting the Split Task icon, Click the task bar where you want to
split it.
That's all ;-)

Thanks. Thats what I was doing. Nothing happens. I can hit the icon and click
where I want the split, or hit the icon and click and drag on the bar, either
way, I don't get a split. Any suggestions?

Check the Calculation options:
Tools / Options / Calculation / Calculation mode : automatic

Perfect. Thanks. What else is affected by my having the calculation in manual?

Hi JF,

Simply said: everything.
With calculation set to manual Project stops calculating dates.
For instance you might set a constraint Must Start On 8/8/5 the task
woiuld'nt move either.
