style sheets casuing crashes

Hello

I want to use external style sheets for a web. I am using fp2000 and XP pro.

I create a new, blank css using the new page menu.

I then edit some existing tags or create some new ones.

When I come to save it FrontPage closes (with no error box) and the edited
file is not saved. it doesn't matter where I try to save the file - same
result. FrontPage closes and nothing is saved.

How do I get round this please?

Use Notepad or a third-party CSS editor (TopStyle is very good) to edit your
stylesheets, or upgrade to FP2002 or FP2003, which don't have this problem.

thanks for the reply.

The upgrade is not an option - using it for work.

I have use notepad and saved with a css extension. The same problem occurs
