Synch to PDA

This does seem like an OLD subject but I have read and reread what I could on
this subject. I called Tech support and they could not fix the problem after
about an hour and I needed to go. But I am simply not about to synch between
OneNote and my PDA, iPaq 210, rather new. OneNote is on the PDA. OneNote is
installed on the computer but there is no communication between OneNote on
PDA and OneNote on computer (XP). What am I doing wrong so that they will
not communicate? Old PDA and another computer and this worked without any
kind of fiddling around. I installed the program and it worked fine on that
other system. Both of these I am now speaking about are different machines.
I just have no idea where to go from here. Thanks for any help and thanks
for your patience about this.

Do you get an error when you synch?
Does ActiveSync successfully synch Contacts or Calendar?

Yes, everything synchs fine, no problem with anything else but OneNote but it
is like the two exists in different universes! There is NO connection
between what is on my PDA and what is on my computer. There is NO error
message. It is sort of like a wife who expects you to know something is
wrong without telling you, she just simply ignores you until you figure out
what the problem is. What else could I possibly be missing here? What needs
to be checked that is unchecked? Why does my OneNote think OneNote does not
exist on my PDA and why does my PDA think that OneNote does not exist on my
computer? Again, no error message and everything else synchs fine.

Thanks for any help.

What if you try uninstalling OneNote Mobile and then installing it from
OneNote?

I am using Active Synch 4.5.0, is there a newer one?

Now here is where the problem might be when you asked if OneNote is listed
on ActiveSynch and the answer is no. I remember that it was listed on
another system under Tools and Options in Active Synch but here it is NOT
listed. How in the world does one go and get it there so that it can be
synched? I am really at a loss of what to do next except for call Tech
Support and oh was that fun the last time I did that, an hour of total
futility and when I hung up not only did I have this problem with OneNote but
two others that took another two hours to get back to "normal" again. You
now this is where they take over your computer and you are sitting there
hoping and praying that the gods in Seattle or wherever will be gracious.
Perhaps the gods there were unhappy because on this system I am still using
XP, I don't know. But if it will appease them I promise to go out and get
Windows 7 just as soon as Service Pack 1 is ready.

Again, thanks for any help you can give. I am coming up to a place where I
really do need to synch the two for a particular project and I have exhaused
about all of the options I have left. I mean this can be and is a rather
valuable tool, at least it was for me. But this has been rather frustrating
because as far as I can tell this is the only program, application, addon
that is not working for me between the new PDA and my desktop.

It is simply not listed on Active Synch. I have done uninstall and install
several times, maybe 6 or so. I have done uninstall and install on BOTH the
desktop and the PDA bunches of times. I have done soft reset on PDA bunches
of times. I have done a restart on Computer bunches of times. I have turned
computer all the way off and sang the Star Spangle Banner a couple of times.
I guess I have done about everything except call Tech support again.

Oh, you asked what happens when I do an Active Synch and nothing happens.
Umm, err, well the little wheel spins, the other stuff synchs. Everything
updates properly and swiftly and accurately and pleasantly ... except for
OneNote. It does, well, nothing. Just like it does not exist.

I am doing my best to answer all of your questions with as much detail as
possible so that you might be able to suggest something.

I am sure hoping you or someone here might be able to help.

I really am grateful for you time and thoughts.

ActiveSync 4.5.0 is the latest version.

In ActiveSync, when you menu: Tools-Options is Microsoft Office OneNote
listed but not ticked?
