table of pictures

Is there a way to organize pictures in a powerpoint table ? Once I
create a table and click into a cell, there seems to be no way to
insert a jpg-image from my computer. The image just ends up somewhere
on top of the table.

That's pretty much it, unlike Word you cannot insert a picture in a cell.

Depending on what you need to achieve you might want to try FILLING cells
with a picture fill.

The actual method depends on the version of PowerPoint
