Hi Aaron,
The Getting Started task pane entries in Word are part
of the Word Data Settings (binary) registry key.
Basically if you delete the key you reset the whole list
of 'Open' in the Word task pane.
Rename or delete the 'Settings' subkey under the Word Data key

from Start=>Run=>Regedit.
There is a 3rd party Office Booster Task Pane Wizard from
Romke Soldaat available but due to the way Word stores the
data in that key, one of the few things it doesn't do is
clear the Task Pane 'Open File' history list in Word.

I was wondering if anybody knew how to clear the recent files on the taks
pane in MS Office 2003. It shows maybe the last 4-5 files that I have saved,
but those files have been deleted. How do I get the "old" files off of that
menu? It isn't a big deal, but it is driving me crazy! Thanks for the help!
