Task Split

Having trouble with task splitting. A 10 hour duration task runs for weeks
because it it split several times. WHY? When I run Tools/Tracking/Update
Project the finish date of a 10 hour task that started 1 day ago is going out
the duration of the task from the status date. Need Help.

This is a matter of nonworking time or automatic resource leveling.

Nice to hear from you again Jan. I looked at resource leveling and it's set
to manual. I also reviewed the calendar and it's set to 24 hours a day with
no time off. What Projects does when I calculate the project with the current
date is have a task work for a period, stop work for a period, continue
work...... Some task are pushed so far out Projects seems to be useing the
entire duration as remaining duration. I looked at the Tools/Calculation
options and they looked to be set correctly. I even tried combinations of
turning the options on and off with no success. I started a new project with
one task and had no problems. I am out of things to try. Thanks
