Task Types aaaaaaaaahhhh!!

Hi All

I have read some of the posts relating to the above topic though what I am
struggling with is coming up with examples when to use the 3 different types.

I understand the scheduling formulae and can understand the logic though is
there anyone out there who could come up with a simple example for each of
the task types - just a simple one as I am teaching them on Tuesday ha!

Sorry to be a nuisance though if anyone can help I will be forever grateful.

Here's some simple examples for too early this morning.

Fixed Duration: You must mow the entire golf couse in the next 5 days. An
average guy can mow 10 square meters per minute. Your resources (and number
of mowers is now determinable based on the size of the course). It takes nine
monthes for a woman to have a baby. The concrete must dry for 28 days for
maximum strength. The president is in town, your job is to protect his hotel
for the next 3 days.

Fixed Work: You must lay 1000 bricks, it takes 3 minutes to lay a brick.
You are paid for 3000 minutes of work. I don't care how long it takes or how
many people you use. Only one woman can have the baby.... can't divide it up
so her girlfriend takes monthes 5 and 8.

Fixed Units: Here's two people (fixed units). Build a patio cover, I can't
really tell you the amount of work involved, just work until you are done
and it looks like this plan. Take these six photographers and get me some
pictures of Brittnay Spears.

Work is a measure of progress. Duration is the passage of time. The two
are related but not identical. Project will allow you to schedule 9 women to
have a baby in one month.
