Text Box in Word

I have WinXP and Office 2003. I'm trying to use a text box to type the name
of an organization in the center (for a letterhead) and put its logo in each
of the two upper corners. I have the logos situation, now I'm trying to use
a text box to put the name in between. I click on Text Box and a box
appears, but it won't let me type in it, nor can I drag it where I want it.
When I start to type, the box disappears and the typing is just on the page
itself. Any help will be appreciated!

P.S. to what I already wrote: I found when I click on Text Box, a box opens
that says "Create Drawing Here". If I click a second time, THEN I get a
normal text box inside the other one and I can type in it. BUT, if I click
to get rid of the first box, my text also disappears! I don't think I've
tried to use text box since I got this new computer (last May) with Office
2003 already installed. My old computer had Office 97, and I never had a
problem with text boxes!

Try typing what you need in the box somewhere else, then cut it, then create
your text box and paste it in. Maybe that will work.

To turn off the drawing canvas in Word 2003, click on Tools | Options |
General | uncheck the "Automatically create drawing canvas when
inserting autoshapes" box | OK. Then create the text box like you would
have done in Word 97. I think Word 97 inserts text boxes as "float over
text" by default. Word 2003 inserts text boxes as "inline with text" by
default, which is why you can't drag the text box to a different
position on the page. After you insert a text box in Word 2003,
right-click on it, and left-click on Format Text Box | Layout | <choose
a text wrapping option other than "inline with text"> | OK. Then drag
the text box to where you want it.
