text boxes in front page

Is there any way to insert a text box into a web page
designed on frontpage? If not, is there a way to move the
text to a specific location on the page?

The term "text box" has a specific meaning in Front Page.
I am not sure whether this is what you mean so I will
define it here:

The text box is an element of a Front Page form. Forms
are used to collect information from the visitor to your
site. The form is contained on a web page of the site. I
am sure you have seen examples of this when, for
instance, a site requests you fill in your name.

The visitor input textual data is then submitted for
processing at the server by the user clicking on a button
typically labelled "Submit". In the case of Front Page,
servers that are running the Front Page Extensions are
the easiest way to process form information.

If the above is what you are going for then you would use
Insert | Form | Text box to insert the text box onto the
Front Page form.

As to your question about "moving the text to a specific
location on the page", you would place the text (or text
box) on your web page using HTML tables, or tables for
short using Front Page's Table menu. Although no analogy
is perfect, you can visual tables much in the same way as
a spreadsheet where you place whatever you want in a
specific cell of the spreadsheet. However, in the case of
web page design, you must create the spreadsheet (ie,
tables) before placement.

I could go on and on (and I have) but I would suggest you
pick up a book on your version of Front Page. One such
book is "Microsoft Front Page 2003 Inside Out" by Jim
Buyens. Another book is by Jim Cheshire. Both gentlemen
provide their advice and counsel on this newsgroup and
are quite good.

I hope this helps.
