The "&" sign in form view

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this
problem?

When I use an "&" sign on a form or Switchboard, it is
replaced with a "_" once the form switches to form view.

I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me... is there
a cure for this? This just drives me crazy. Thank you
for your help!

The answer is Yes, you have to a double ampersand to have
it show one on a form or report.

Gail, Gina has posted the answer to your question.

You might be interested to know that the underscore activates a "hotkey." In other words, if you have a "Last Name" field in your form, and you enter the label as "&Last Name" in design view, it will (as you've noted) appear as "Last Name" with "L" underlined in form view. What's great about that is that if a user presses Alt-l, the focus will move to the Last Name field. This gives your users an additional way to navigate your form.

When using the & it allows you to put in a keyboard
shortcut for that button or command you are doing. If you
want to avoid that (in other words acutally show the &)
put in 2 of them. For example if you want Jack & Jill you
need to put "Jack && Jill" Hope this helps.
