Title on object

Mr. X.

Hello.
I am using visio 2003.

For shape , such as : Active directory objects -> Server,
I can add a title.
Can I change the position of the title (on top, right, or whereever I like
to put it) ?,
because there are some connectors lines, and I don't want that the title be
on that lines.

Thanks :)

If you have selected the shape with the Pointer Tool, is there no little
yellow diamond on the text field ? You can drag this.

Hello Mr X,

Philippe is right there should be a yellow control that positions the text.
With the shape selected, make sure Format / Behavior / Behavior tab /
Selection highlighting / "Show control handles" is ticked.

I'm assuming that the shape hasn't been grouped with any other shapes by the
way.

Best regards

John

Very strange indeed.
I also work with Visio 2003 professional.
I searched a master with keywords "active directory". I drag the master
"stencil" in the drawing. There is only no yellow diamond when the text box
is empty.
I even tried to add a custom property "title" and insert it in the text box.
Even then there is a yellow diamond.
I see nothing relevant in Tools - Options.
Are you sure you are not working with the Text Tool or the Text Block Tool ?
Or do the template of the wizard prevent repositioning text ?
Try it once the way I described in a new empty drawing.

Well John,
you have beaten me again :)
But I have learned something , if I don't forget it.

I am not sure about the 2003 version but on the 2007 version if you
click the drop down arrow next to the text tool you can select the
text block tool which allows you to move the text block associated
with the object. YOu can turn it rotate it or slide it where ever you
want. You can also go into the shape sheet and change the font size
field that will make the text change in size when you resize the
object.

Let me know if this works on the 03 version please.
