I would like to assign work to a group f.ex. electrical or mechanical
division, which has 5 or 6 people, without to think which one of them work on
which assignment. Is that possible?
Many thanks it someone can answer!!!
natash,
Yes and this is a very common scenario. On the Resource Sheet enter the
resource group in terms of what the group does rather than who is
actually in the group. For example, you might have "electricians",
"plumbers", "dog walkers", etc. as the general groups. Then under Max
Units enter the total equivalent of that group. For example, if you have
5 electricians, you would enter 500%, meaning 5 electricians at 100%
each (assuming they are all full-time employees).
When assigning a resource to a task, think of it in terms of how many
rather than who. So if you need 2 electricians on a particular task,
their assignment level would be 200% (or 2.0 if you set you assignment
default at units instead of percent).
Hope this helps.
