I would like to know if I can transfer the emails from my work laptop to my pc at home without sending them to myself...i.e. a share folder? or a format i can put them in so I can put on a floppy....???

If you know of any solution to this so I can have all my personal emails when going on holiday that would be great,,

I have a pop host email and so can that help?!?!

Just copy them into an Outlook Data File (PST file) and open that PST file
in the other installation.

The data is in a .pst file. See http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm
for likely file locations.
