Transferring the Office software to another computer...

I bought Office Ultimate online with 2 licenses. One is on my computer and
one is on my mum's. However she has just bought a new computer and would like
the Office package on this new one. As we only bought the Office package
about a month ago we hope that we don't need to buy the package again!! Is
there any way of transferring the software from one computer to another
without copying it - we're trying to play by the rules here!

I would be very grateful for any advice!

Thank you!

Just use the CD to install it on you mother's computer. You are not
violating MS' rules by doing so. You're supposed to uninstall it from
the old computer. You may have problems with activating on line and, if
so, use the phone activation and just tell them what you did.

Locate the installation file(s) that you downloaded, also the Product
key. Uninstall office from the first machine. Transfer the installation
file(s) to the new machine. UNINSTALL any trial version that exists
first. then just install as normal from the installation file(s).

Even though you are trying to play by the rules, and they may be different
where you physically are located, (my mum's suggests the UK or the like) so
you need to read the EULA for your area, I suspect that the license for
Ultimate is the same where you are as what we have here.

That would specify installation on one device and installation on a second
portable device for the exclusive use of the primary user of the primary
device.

It would be under the Office button, Word Options, Resources, About, View
License terms. It says something like:

"2. INSTALLATION AND USE RIGHTS. Before you use the software under a
license, you must assign that license to one device. That device is the
“licensed device.†A hardware partition or blade is considered to be a
separate device.
a. Licensed Device. You may install and use one copy of the software on the
licensed device.
b. Portable Device. You may install another copy on a portable device for
use by the single primary user of the licensed device."
