Trying to copy Quick Parts from 1 computer to another

Kathi

I am trying to update my autotext (quick parts) from my laptop to my desktop.
I used to just copy the normal.dot file and bring it to the other computer
with Word 2003, but with 2007 Student Edition, I can't figure out how to do
it. If anyone could help me, I would be very grateful.

I am trying to update my autotext (quick parts) from my laptop to my desktop.

With Word closed on the laptop, start the Windows Explorer (also called My
Computer or just Computer, depending in Windows version). Paste this into the
address bar and press Enter:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1033

Copy the file Building Blocks.dotx. Paste it into the same location on the
desktop.

Note that each time you create a new building block, you can choose which
template it should be stored in. Building Blocks.dotx is the default, but you
can choose Normal.dotm or any other template.
