UNEVEN LINE SPACING

I have a document that has two lines of regular text (Verdana 10), followed
by two lines of italic text (Verdana 10). The spacing between lines 1-2 and
2-3 are even, but the spacing between 3-4 is very tight (the two italic
lines).

I selected the entire document, went to Format, Paragraph, Line Spacing and
have set this at .75sp, but the unevenness persists.

Ideas?

I don't see this when I change spacing using your example font. Have you tried
using the baseline guides in the Arrange, Layout Guides. You can turn the
baseline guides on in the View menu and in the Format, Paragraph, check *Align
text to baseline guides.*

Thank you. I discovered that if I put in an extra return between lines 3-4,
it looks correct visually. Not logical, but looks fine.
