University assignment... please help

Hi there,

I have to do for my Uni assignment a Gantt Chart and a resource histogram.

The Tasks are:

1. Draw a Gantt Chart and resource histogram for the job. What is the
maximum number of assitants/workers required and when?

2. Unfortunately, there are only 4 assistants available which is probably
why you have been receiving a lot of complaints. Using the Gantt chart and/or
the histogram reschedule the activities so that no more than 4 assistants
will be required.

Well, I typed all the information given in project but I dont know where to
type the assistants. I never worker before with project. So could you please
help.

THANKS A LOT

Your university library must have a basic book on Project.

Basically you have to create a list of resources representing your
assistants. You can create them individually so you have 4 people or
you can create a pool showing a generic labour type with 400%
availability. You do this on the resource sheet.

You then assign them to your activities on your Gantt chart. You can do
this by using the Assign Resources dialog from the Tools menu (there are
also toolbar buttons and shortcuts).

You can then use various views (Resource Usage, Resource Graph) to look
at how much work they are doing at various intervals in time.

Hope this helps, but there seems little point in reproducing here what
is readily available in common texts and in more detail than can be
sensibly typed here. The Step by Step guide to Project 2003 is good for
example but there are others.

You may want to visit the FAQ page at http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm
and you may like to look at the help that comes with Project.
