update project date

In the Update Project dialog box I inadvertently input an incorrect date for
'Update work as complete through'. e.g. 10/12/06 instead of 10/10/06. This
then showed ALL of my tasks completed. When I try to input the correct date
i.e. 10/10/06 it still shows all tasks as completed.

How do I correct this?

Hi Megan,

In quick testing, I can reproduce what you are seeing: running the
Update Project command with a an earlier date does not change the
tracking data. A quick way to re-set the information was setting the
percent complete back to zero for the tasks inadvertently updated and
then running Update Project again as needed.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks JulieS. Yes that works but don't you have to do each task
individually? Or is there a way to re-set multiple tasks? It will take ages
if it is a large project with hundred of tasks and they have to be done
individually.

Hi Megan,

A couple of options about changing % complete for multiple tasks:

1. Select the tasks you wish to change and click the Task Information
button on the Standard Toolbar or Project > Task information. This will
display the Multiple Task Information dialog box. Click the General tab
and enter the 0% complete. The 0% complete will be applied to all
selected tasks.

2. Select the tasks and use the 0% complete button on the tracking
toolbar.

3. Display the Tracking table (View > Table > Tracking). Use the fill
handle or copy/paste to copy the 0% complete.

You could also create a quick filter to filter for tasks with Actual
Finish Dates after the date you meant (10 Oct in your example.) After
running the filter, the only tasks displayed should be the tasks in
error. Then use any of the methods above.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Just wanted to say thanks for the help. I must have been selecting
incorrectly as everything worked fine this time! Thanks again.
