upgrade question

My boss wants to switch from 2003 to 2007 but he purchased a full version of
the software instead of just an update version. Should I just back up the
Outlook data files, uninstall 2003 then install 2007 and restore the data
files? Will this keep all of his Outlook files intact? I'm assuming that
Outlook will present the only problem and that all 2003 file versions of the
other apps will work just fine in 2007...

Thanks

I assume your data is all backed up anyway.
Pop the 2007 cd in, once it runs it will give you the option to upgrade the
earlier version Office (entirely)
(and that assumes he purchased the correct version of Office2007, there are
several)

um....sure... my files are backed up.... ;-)

well that's why I asked... it doesn't say anything about updating... it just
seems to want to install.

Outlook is different. You can only have one version of Outlook installed at
a time. If 2003 is still present, 2007 will not install.

In my experience this is incorrect. When I upgraded from 2003 to 2007
it replaced Outlook 2003 with 2007.
