Urgent help! - resource pool problems

M

Michael P

Hello,

I have set an enterprise resource pool and have been
piloting 2 projects using project server. My projects are
almost at ending. I am trying to setup another project
when I noticed that my resources' availability show 0
(Zero) or negative (wacko numbers) hours after November
03. I have not assigned any other projects to those
resources. Why do I see they all 0 when I looking at
Resources Analyzer. I have roughly over 100 resources in
the pool. Could it be that my resource pool has been
corrupted. Please help.

Thanks
Michael

A very common problem that can cause this is to create an
admin project to capture non-project time, create year-
long tasks and then assign your resources to the admin
project at 100%. This will remove all availability from
the resource pool. Have you done something like this?

I'm wondering if your zero availability values after November 2003 might be
caused by the settings you currently have for updating your Resource Tables
and the OLAP Cube. To check these settings, please do the following:

1. Log into PWA as Administrator
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Select the Manage Enterprise Features hyperlink
4. In the sidepane on the left, select the Update Resource Tables and OLAP
Cube link

Check your settings in the "Date range for resource availability" section.
Have you "hard wired" a fixed date range (the second option), concluding
with November 2003? Or have you specified a flexible date range (the first
option) that specifies how many time periods in the future and in the past
will be used for showing resource availability? If you have set a fixed
date range, you might want to readjust the dates. Otherwise, you could
select the first option to set a flexible range for a certain span of time,
such as 6 months in the future and 1 month in the past. I don't know if
this will solve your problem or not, but I hope this helps.
