using my templates

I have a template of my own that I designed for our company to use for
collateral. When I open Publisher, it is there for me to choose. However,
if I open an older piece of collateral and want to update the template, it
won't show up. I am going to Publication Options, and clicking the button
'change template'. I have verified that the template is stored in the
correct folder.

Any ideas?
