Video in PPT

1st is PPT powerpoint pres.?
2nd I can't work out how to put video into PPT?
3rd can I take a video file and take just a few seconds of the video?

1. Yes.
2. Usually from the menu. Insert->Movies and Sounds->Movie from File.
Browse to the file and it is put in the slide.
3. As long as it is compatible with PowerPoint.
