Viewing inserted pictures in Word

Only the outline of a picture inserted is visible. If I go to Print Preview
or actually print the doc, the picture appears normally. It just doesn't
show up when I'm working on the doc. Appreciate any help.

Tools > Options, on the View tab uncheck Picture placeholder.

I'm having a similar problem when inserting pictures into my header/footers.
I have managed to get the image in the header to appear at all times, by
cutting, then using 'special paste' on the edit button, and pasting as
'picture (windows metafile)'. However, this doesn't seem to work in the
footer, although the image will print out. I wonder if this problem is
particular to Office 2003, as I don't have the same problem in a PC with
Office XP?

I am note aware of this issue and have not seen anything related to it. Try
posting as a new question, ince there is probably someone out there who has
seen this.
