Viewing Tasks by Person or Project, Sorted by Date

Hello,

In MS Project, I have a dozens of sets of tasks spread
across several people. Currently, the 'sets' of tasks are
oganized in groups so I can be sure each 'set' is
complete (has all tasks a, b, c, etc.) That's fine to
make sure I've accounted for all the work that needs to
be done.

Now, I would like to see sort of another 'view' of the
same scheduleing infomration. Instead of listing by 'set
of tasks', I want to view all of the tasks for one
person, listed in chronological order.

Is there a way to view this infomration or make a report
to show it? I know I can make a report to show tasks for
each person, but they are not listed in chronological
order.

Thanks much,
MaryS

Hi Mary,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Try filtering for Using Resource and then Sort by Start date, both
selectable via the Project menu,

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :))

Mary,
Why not simply create a filter? You can even build an interactive filter
that "asks" for the resource name. First sort the file by Start date to
get everything in chronological order. Then apply the filter. The
following will set up an interactive filter:
Field Name Test Values
Resource Names contains "Which resource"?

Then print the sorted/filtered view for your report.

Hope this helps.

Sarah,
Yes that might also be a viable alternative however Mary's post
indicated she wanted a view with the "same scheduling information". I
took that to mean a Gantt Chart (or equivalent) that was specific for a
given resource.
