Visual reports - custom fields

When I create a new Visual report for Excel from Project 2007, I also select
a custom field.
But by the time Excel is opened, I can nowhere find the custom field.
Only the "standard" fields.
Any idea, anyone?

Ben,
If you are looking for timescaled data for those custom fields, it
doesn't exist. Project only develops timescaled data for some standard
fields.

I haven't used Project 2007's visual reports other than in passing, but
it might be that the visual reports exporting process treats Project
fields by their generic field name. In that case, when you select the
field for export, use your custom field decoder ring to select the
generic field name. If the generic name is all the comes across in
Excel, you will need to rename the custom field there.

John,

it's not (all) about timescaled fields, when you create a new visual report,
you get the chance to add custom fields (pick them from a - by Microsoft -
defined list).
But they do not all appear on the actual report, like there is some
arbitrary filter on what to export or not, without being able to find the
actual conditions of the filter.

Hi Ben,

Any custom fields added to the OLAP cube are properties of the
resource or assignment. Make sure you have either the resource or
task added to the report, click the resource or task and from the
shortcut menu choose Show Properties in Report and select the custom
field.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
