Warning when have time in a task with an unfinished predecessor

Is there a way to get a warning if you are giving actual start date or
duration to a task where the finish-to-start predecessor hasn't finished?

Thanks.

You'll need to wite a VBA Macro to do something like that.
In Rod Gil's book on VBA Programming for MS Project, he has code that will
list all predecessors to a task. As that loops through the predecessors, you
could modify the code to examine Actual Finish for those tasks and then set a
flag for you.

His book can be purchased at msprojectexperts.com

One of the other MVPs also has similar code out here in cyberspace, you may
want to try mousetrax.com

Thanks for your quick response. That's a good idea. With al the checking
that Project does to make sure you don't mess up your plan, I would think
that would be one of them.
