Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

This occurs under 2 conditions:

1) If I hit the maximize button after waking and I'm plugged into an external monitor
2) Sometimes when I 'show/hide folder list' (command-b)

I haven't seen any other postings about this bug, but it's pretty annoying. Snippet of relevant error log output is pasted below. Thanks for any tips!

This hasn't been reported, but we don't have a lot of users that use two
monitors. We do get reports on windows acting funny when placed on the
second monitor like a reply to a message.

Other than telling you to change YOUR behavior, I don't have a workaround to
this. Unless it's a major issue affecting the majority of users, don't
expect to see a bug fixed for 08. They are heads down on the next release.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I'm not using two monitors. I'm using a macbook and regularly plug in an external monitor in lieu of the native macbook screen. When I click maximize plugging in or unplugging the monitor (and therefore switching screens), the crash occurs. Hope this helps clear it up.

Thanks for the clarification.

I'll see if I can get someone with your setup to test this.

Got a verification that no problems on two monitors with EWS using the steps
you describe. I'm not sure what to tell you to look for to stop the crashing
on your computer other than try the usual troubleshooting steps.

Steps to help determine where the problem is located.

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there.

3) If the problems still exist in the new User, it's a problem with your
Office install or your base OS files.

I am getting the same problem with Entourage crashing when I resize my
window with 13.0.0. Generally I am finding this "upgrade" very
unstable and would not recommend anyone upgrade yet until at least
there is a 13.0.1 with these bug's removed.

What OS? Leopard or Snow Leopard??

I have had similar problems with Entourage v 13.0.0 crashing and now I see
the other applications crashing as well sometimes. I would like to upgrade
the other MS applications to the latest version 12.2 but when I did that
some months ago it brought Entourage down to an earlier version and it would
not recognise the identity of the v13.0.0 copy of Entourage. In the end I
had to revert to al of my original applications and identities. Not a
process I want to repeat. Does anyone know how I can update just the other
applications and leave Entourage 13.0.0 intact? Are we expecting 13.1 of
13.0.1 at some time?
Cheers, Stephen

When you install the EWS version 13 of Entourage it requires that 12.2.1 be
installed. The only application that's changed is Entourage from 12.2.0 to
13.0.0.

EWS upgrades your Identity when you first launch it and that database can no
longer be used by v.12.2.0.

The Microsoft Component Plugin is 12.2.1. All the Office apps are 12.2.0.

"/Applications/Microsoft Office
2008/Office/MicrosoftComponentPlugin.framework"

There has been no official word on a new update coming. Sorry!
