What I love about Onenote

I have a mac (but I used to have PC) so I miss onenote. The following are reasons why I miss it:
1. you could take screen-clippings!!!! that's right - this is the only reason I miss the program because mac offers everything else awesome about onenote except the screen-clipping tool! I would pay full price for the program JUST for the screen-clipping! For those of you who don't know what this is or are confused, screen-clipping takes a "picture" of what you see on your screen. It's as if you grabbed a digital camera and took a picture of the laptop screen. Of course you can take a clip of a smaller area of the screen, too. This is SO handy if you need to copy a piece of a journal article that has permissions and won't let you copy it... just to refer back to it. I mean come on, if I wanted to plagiarize and copy an article, I'd just retype it. And if I have a crazy facebook convo with someone and want to show a friend to prove that I'm not lying and also so I don't have to give her my password to see it, I can just take a clip of the convo, put it in onenote, save it as a pic, and e-mail it over. It's friggen sweet. Anyway, I hope microsoft ppl see this and make onenote as part of office... if you even just add screen-clipping to the already-existing circus ponies program, you're golden.

If you want this feedback to reach Microsoft, use the Send Feedback on Word
(or any other application) inside the application's Help menu. Describe a
valid user scenario to convince the people at Microsoft that a Mac version
of OneNote is needed.

In this particular case, it is not: Mac OS X offers a built-in tool to
create screenshots.

* Hit Shift-Cmd-3 to generate a screenshot file on your desktop.
* Hit Shift-Cmd-4 to be able to select a screen area for the screenshot.
* Hit Shift-Cmd-4, then Space, to obtain a camera cursor that automatically
selects entire areas, such as windows, screenshots, palettes etc.
* Hit Ctrl-Shift-Cmd-3 to copy the current screenshot into the clipboard.
* Hit Ctrl-Shift-Cmd-4 to copy the selection you make into the clipboard.

Have you asked on the Circus Ponies forums about screenshots? If the app
can handle images (and google suggests it can), it might be possible to
set up some shortcuts for quickly getting screenshots in there.

I'm not very familiar with these types of programs, but the Mac does
have several sort of "collector" programs that would suit what you
describe. You might check out Evernote, which I think is particularly
good at doing pix:

or DevonThink is a big name in this field.

Others: Yojimbo, Tinderbox.

Also, I find it easier to keep the screenshot application Grab, which
comes with the Mac, in my Dock than to remember the built-in shortcuts.
