I downloaded the powerpoint 2003 viewer and a thing popped up and said that
you need a file name to open it. So ive tried .ppt and all kinds of things
and it won't open. I've tried asking microsoft for assistance before but it
doesn't seem to be working. So now i cant finish my power point for school,
and I need to know what my file name should be. Thanks

The Viewer only lets you view files, it doesn't let you edit or create
files. The file name it is asking you for is the name of the existing
PowerPoint presentation that you want it to play.

Did you install the viewer? The EXE file you download is not the viewer, but
a setup program. If you install that, there will be seven files on your
disk (you need all of them), of which PPTVIEW.exe is the actual viewer.

Best regards,
Ute

Hi - If you didnt install the download you need to look for ppviewer.exe and
double click it.

Once downloaded when you open the viewer you need to navigate to the
presentation that you want to open, select it and then click "open".
