When I download a PDF document I get garbage characters.

I have Microsoft Office 2003. When I download and save a PDF document onto my
computer the next time I open the document from hard drive the document is
all garbage characters. The converter box comes up and I select default and
have even tried other language options and the document still does not appear
readable. Is there a way to correct this? This did not happen before I
downloaded the latest Microsoft Word upgrades from the Microsoft website.

Hi Tom,

What app are you opening the PDF file in?
MS Office does not have any built in capabilities
to use PDF files although there are 3rd party
add-ins that can 'convert' them for use in Word.
