Whenever I open a powerpoint file on my laptop that has been saved from my
computer. It opens it but it adds extra lines between the words. Do you know
how I can fix this problem?

On the laptop, go to Format|Replace Fonts. Do you see a question mark in
front of any of the fonts listed?

Hello It's Chaddy,
I did what you said and there is a question mark beside the airial narrow
font. What do you suggest I do?

Thanks for doing the test, Chaddy. The Format|Replace Fonts dialog is a
really helpful diagnostic tool.

You need to install Arial Narrow on the laptop. You're getting extra lines
because PPT is replacing all the arial narrow text with another font --
probably Arial -- and its spacing is different.

Or you can embed the font in the presentation when you save it on the
desktop, but you may not be able to make changes to it then when you open
the file on the laptop.

To embed the font, use File|Save As, and in the Save As dialog, look for
"tools." Click that and choose Save Options and then check "embed truetype
fonts."
