Where are attachments stored?

Can you tell me where to find an email attachment on my harddrive? It won't
open with the wordpad, which is what my computer defaults to trying to open
this file with. I want to try to open it with a different program but can't
find it. I used find file and typed in the attachment name and my computer
couldn't find it.

Attachments are stored with the email in the pst. If you attempt to open it
from a message, a copy is saved in your internet temp folder, in a folder
called olk*. It's hidden and not easily accessed except by typing the full
path to it.

What file type is it supposed to be?

Attachments are stored in the PST file, just like the mail to which they are
attached. They aren't a separate file until you save them.
