Who does what when report

Az.

Hi;

I am using msp2003. I am trying to get 'who does what when' report
printed... for some reason (and i know there is a reason, I just can't figure
it out!!!) I just can't get the desired result...

The row contains resource and the column shows work units for that time
period. What I want is to have each resources task assignments printed as
well...

I used the option view-->reports-->assignments-->who does what-->edit
in defintion tab I have in 'cross tab column '1' months and in row I have
selected resource -->work . I also 'checked' 'And Task assignments' and I
am using 'All resources' as the filter

but the report that I get is showing resources only and not the tasks...
what am I doing wrong?
Az.

Hello AZ,

Display the Resource Usage view and show all assignments. If the
assignment rows are collapsed up in the Resource Usage view, the Who
Does What When report only shows resources and work, not the assignment
rows.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for your response.... now I know what I was doing wrong. I had opened
the resource pool file (and not the sharer file) and was trying to see the
who does what when report, which after some trial and error I figured would
only be printed if the sharer file is open. Is that correct? do I have to
have a sharer file open to see who does what when report? can I not have
this report by only having master resource pool file opened?

Another question: I have about 50+ resources in the resource pool... and
there are about 20+ projects 'connected' to this resource pool... even after
I open any sharer file and try to print who does what report (for all
resources) I get this

"You can not print or preview because the print area of the page is too small"

Although I tried different column settings from months, to quarters to years
I keep on getting this error message.

Thank you
Az.

Hello AZ,

You are welcome AZ and thanks for the feedback. To your new questions:

You need to either have a sharer file and pool open (to see all
assignments across all sharer files) or you need to open the Resource
Pool with the third option "Open the resource pool read-write and all
other sharer files into a new master project....." You will then choose
the master file to print the Who Does What When report.

The error message you are seeing would indicate to me that you have
manually sized the print option. Go to File > Page Setup and re-set
your scaling to 100%. Then try the report again.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Actually the page setup scaling was set to 100% and I tried with it, it
didn't work, then I changed it to 60% but it didn't work either...

Hi AZ,

Can you print any other report from the file? Can you print the
Resource Usage view manually? Have you tried changing your margins?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
