Why can't I export from a tif to a jpg?

I'm using Microsoft Office Picture Manager. I have a tif image and I need to
use it on a website so I want to export it as a jpg. I choose export and
select jpg in the list and I get back a message that says "Some files may not
have been exported. Try to export again." It doesn't do anything - I try
again & get the same message. I can export as a bmp or a gif. I can even
export from a bmp or gif to a jpg. But it will not export from a tif to a
jpg. What's up?

Dunno why, works here for various tif types. Try Export as BMP and then
BMP->JPG as a work around?

I cannot duplicate your issue. Can you open the picture in Paint and save as.
Does that work?

Yeah, it used to work here too - until a few days ago when they ran microsoft
update on my computer. And yes I can work around by saving as a bmp or a gif
and then resaving as a jpg - but I was kind of hopful that there was some
patch out there that would just make it work again...

Actually no - I get a slightly different error message, but it still doesn't
save from a tif to a jpg. It will still save from tif to other file types
(like bmp) and then into a jpg. The thing is that it did work for me a
little as a week ago too, it wasn't until my technology guy decided to run
microsoft updates on my machine that it stopped working. It is very
frusterating, and uses up rather a lot of space to have to save and resave in
order to get to where I need to be - but I guess for now that is all I can
do... Oh, well - Thanks for trying!
