Why can't I insert AutoText into my Word/Excel 2000 Documents?

Hi,

For some reason, when attempting to insert AutoText to my header/footers in
Excel/Word 2000, the option is greyed out. I've updated my Office program
with all the available patches online, and restarted my computer, but to no
avail. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a way to rectify
this issue? Thanks in advance.

In Word: Try renaming your Normal.dot file as described in section 2 of
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm . If that fixes the
problem, you can copy your customizations from the old normal.dot to the new
normal.dot by clicking on Tools | Templates and Add-ins | Organizer.

In Excel: I can't find where you can click on Insert AutoText. Can you
elaborate?
