why can't I see animations in my emails in Outlook?

For some reason I haven't been able to see animations in my email messages in Outlook. I know other email programs allow you to see animations. Is it not possible to do this in Outlook? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks!

If the message is a complex HTML message and the animations are embedded,
you should be able to see them, provided you don't have HTML disabled. But
if the sender has sent the animation as an attachment, you will only receive
it as an attachment. Outlook doesn't provide any attachment preview within
the message.
