Why can't someone open a word doc embedded in another word doc?

I have a user who has posted a document to a site (Word Doc) and embedded
another document (Word) inside of it. They can open the first document, but
not the imbedded document.

I can perform the action so I am guessing it must be pc related or some
setting?

Does anyone know what might cause this or how to resolve? Thanks,

Sorry, we can't see your user's screen from here, so your saying
"can't open" is not very descriptive of the problem. What
happens when your user tries to open the embedded document? Does
your user get an error message, and if so, what does the error
say (please quote the error message exactly and completely). As
a wild guess, see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=835404 "You
receive a 'File is not available' error message when you try to
open an Office document".

Apologies for not being clearer. One time the user just gets the hour glass
and no error message. The most recent attempt gave her the following message:

“word is waiting for another application to complete an ole actionâ€

I haven't personally encountered that error message before.
There are a few articles in Microsoft's Knowledge Base, but none
are specific to Word objects embedded within Word files. Instead
of embedding the second Word file, you might post the second Word
file to the same website, and include a hyperlink to it in the
first Word file.
