why does a 5 day task span a month of time ?

[New to MS PRoject]

I have a task that is scheduled for 5 days duration, has a dedicated
resource, and is set to start asap. While the task starts as expected, it
spans a whole month !

Any ideas about what I might be doing wrong here ?

Has the resource's calendar (or the project calendar) been modified with
nonworking time?
