Why does an 8 hour day start on 1 day and finish on the next?

I set up a task on day 1 for either less than 8 hours of work or exactly 8
hours of work, the calendar work day, and Project ends the task on the next
calendar day. Why does it do that? It should start and end on the same day.
What am I doing wrong? I have tried Fixed Work, Fixed Duration, and Fixed
Units, but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Set up your date display to also show the time.
Does the task start at the beginning of the day or for example at 1:00PM

Thanks for the reply. I figured out what I was doing wrong. It has to do
with some people working an 8 hour day and some people working a 6.4 hour day
on the same calendar. I just messed up the time allocation so that it always
seemed to just be over 1.00 days of work.

Thanks anyway.
