why is microsoft word 2003 not loading on my desktop?

all other office 2003 products work. Word starts to load, but freezes and
only shows the word 2003 "logo" a small rectangular box. that box stays up
and does nothing.

Close Word, then find and rename normal.dot to .old. Try it again.
