Why ZIP files do not show for INSERT Attachment?

Using the latest version of Outlook. When you INSERT a file to be attached
to an email and show "All Files" is selected, the ZIP files to not show for
attachment. Why is this?

it has to do with the fact that zips can be viewed in the file system as
normal file folders and outlook sees them as such.

Windows XP has a system component that can treat zip files like ordinary
folders. Open a command prompt and type:

regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll


when you want the functionality back

regsvr32 zipfldr.dll
