"WMA" files into PowerPoint 2004

Tom R.

I can't insert a sound file (wma) into a PowerPoint 2004 slide. The
warning I receive is: "PowerPoint couldn't insert a sound from the
selected file"

The same sound file works fine with the latest Windows version of
PowerPoint.

Any ideas?

Sure, but Windows has native support for wma (the same way we have
native suypport for quicktime media).
In the Mac, you need WindowsMedia player to play these fiels and it sure
isn't integrated in PPT. (similarely, you'd get the same problem the
other way around with a QuickTime movie for instance),

There is no other workaround than to trascode the file to a format that
would be supported by QuickTime.
