.wmv files won't play on my computer

I just recently purchased a new computer with Windows XP and Office 2003 on
it. I created a PowerPoint presentation that included several slides that
have video clips inserted. I can't play them on my machine - I just get a
white box when I choose Play or when I am in show mode and click on the black
box to pay the video clip. The PowerPoint file and all the video files are
saved in the same folder.

When I send this folder to my client and other professionals I work with,
they all can play the video clips either in the show mode or in the editing
mode. My client and other professionals all have a varying levels of
PowerPoint software. I am able to pay the videos on my old machine running
PowerPoint 2000.

Can anyone help me with this. It is pretty difficult to accomodate a
client's request when I can't see what's going on!

Frustrated - been working on this problem for 2 weeks now.

Just a note, you might want to try out moving the folder(containing movie and
ppt file), to C:\ drive. Also, update both directX and windows media
player(Try out to see if the movie run in MCI Player, click Start – Run, and
in the command line type mplay32.exe and click OK. )
You can refer to the above site posted for more information.

It works. It would appear that I had the files buried so deep that there
were too many characters for the system to pull the video clips up (128
characters max).

Thank you thank you thank you. I should have come online sooner. Could
have gotten more zzzz's last week.
