word 2000 will not let me save document higher than 97-98

I know this is a common problem, but I cannot find the fix
anywhere. I previously had office 98 installed, ran the
uninstall tool found on the microsoft site, but I am still
getting this error. Can anyone help me or direct me to a
URL that can help. Thanks so much. I'm pulling my hair
out.

No problem, the format didn't change (and still didn't with Excel v.X).
Don't worry, it will work fine, there's no "higher" doc format.
