Word 2007 pictures in the Footer and auto complete dates

If I add a picture, any picture, to a word file my date auto suggestion
doesn't work anymore. The only way I can find to get auto complete to work
again is to delete normal.dotm. This is a companywide problem not just on one
computer. Does anyone have any ideas?

Interesting! I've been hearing reports that the AutoComplete tip stops
functioning but so far I haven't heard any solutions or reasons for why it
occurs. You may have solved this mystery!

I can reproduce this and have reported it. Also, on my end if I remove the
image from the footer the AutoComplete tip starts functioning again without
the need to recreate Normal.dotm.

As for ideas, perhaps you could use a macro assigned to a keyboard shortcut
to insert the current date?
