Word 2008 line spacing problems

William

When I open a new document, though the format indicates it is single line spacing it is actually 1.5 or double. I can open an old file and the single spacing is quiet evident. How do I get new documents in Word 2008 to single space?

Are you hitting enter at the end of each line?

There is a different between line spacing (many lines within a
paragraph) and paragraph spacing (the space created when you hit enter,
called Space Before and Space After). I'm not sure what the defaults in
Word 2008 are, but they may have added additional paragraph spacing--I
think single spacing should still be single.

Anyhow, you can select text and go to Format | Paragraph to change those
settings.

Go to Format -> Paragraph -> check "Don't add space between paragraphs of the
same style
