Word 2010- Key Macros From Word XP

Larry B

I had made some great key macros in Word XP (2002?). We just got new
computers at work with Win7 and Office 2010. Can I either transfer the
macros over to 2010 or does 2010 allow me to make new key macros? If so, can
I make a new toolbar button for them or must it only be a keystroke macro
(like ALT+6)?

Thanks for your assistance. Lar

You can put buttons for macros on the Quick Access Toolbar, if that's what
you're asking.

Yes. How about into a Custom section on the ribbon? Can I import the Word XP
macros to 2010, too, or do I need to start over?

Thank you, Suzanne

Depends on what the macros do, but most will still run. You can only try it
and see. And yes, you can create a custom group/tab for them.
