word 97/xp problem

I installed with a CD disk Office 97 on a new computer
running XP. I initially installed and ran it on a
previous computer with Windows 98.
I can open Word. Can type text. Some of the functions
won't respond, IE: labels.
When I attempt to print the document the following error
message occurs:
Microsoft Word for windows 97 applicaion file.
error signature.
AppName:winword.exe
AppVer:8.0.0.4412 ModName:winwordexe
Tech information:
C:\DOCUME~1\Linda\Locals~1\temp\Wer38B.tmp.dir00
\appcompat.txt
I have check this site and it did not resolve the problem

When I check Word-tools-options-file location it shows:
C:\...\Microsoft office\Office\Star...

There were 2 service packs for Office 97 - have you installed them?

I think they *may* solve your problem.
